1620 A noble and aristocratic family

In 1620, the Chieusse de Combaud aristocratic family, from Lorgues, acquired the property, then named La Bastide d'Argens in reference to the river Argens that crosses the domain for 4 km. As owners for 3 centuries, a number of family figures have left their mark on the estate's heritage and history.

1700 From Bastide to Chateau

At the end of the 1700s, during the French Revolution, the family's life took a completely different turn when the Revolution was halted. A memorable period when La Bastide d'Argens became Chateau La Martinette.

1880 The renewal of the chateau

Angele Fauchier Magnan, wife of Lord Chieusse de Combaud, undertook a complete restoration of the chateau, transforming the Provencal bastide into a 19ᵉ century chateau with a Renaissance feel.

1930 From silkworm to winegrower

The Chieusse de Combaud family bequeathed the estate for the first time 300 years later. The Gisclard suspension bridge was then built, linking Lorgues and Le Thoronet.

Viticulture made its appearance with the planting of the first vines, a major turning point in the activity and cultivation of Chateau La Martinette.

2011 Provence Lovers

Several owners succeeded one another until the estate was bought in 2011 by 3 partners and friends, all lovers of Provence and La Martinette estate.

As a tribute to its historic heritage, the ancestral coat of arms of the first family was retained as the emblem of this new, contemporary brand, representing the nobility of the past, the commitment of the present and the ambition to look to the future.
